You may have noticed our new website has brought some changes to our shipping. One thing that hasn’t changed is that we aren’t trying to make a profit from shipping our products. We do everything we can to keep our prices down. Shipping is no exception. But because we don’t hike our prices to help cover the operational costs of shipping, we need our shipping charges to cover shipping expenses.
That said, we have also thoughtfully considered our customer’s experience with our shipping. We want to be up front with costs, simplify the process and use the best, fastest service we can. Here’s some of the changes we’ve made:
For our US customers:
- We’ve switched to UPS for areas that this service covers because we’ve heard from many customers that their packages arrive faster.
- We’ve gone with a $10 flat rate that covers all our smaller items. You can order as many as you’d like and we’ll still only charge you $10!
- We ship large, heavy items direct from our manufacturer to save our customers on shipping when we can.
- For larger/heavier items that don’t fall under our $10 small item rate, we quote a maximum $100 charge. Once your items are boxed and weighed, we calculate the actual shipping rate and adjust the shipping charge on your bill accordingly – before we collect payment. In most cases this results in a much lower shipping charge than the maximum charge we’ve quoted!
- We’ve made the option for 2nd Day Air with UPS available. Like the larger/heavier items, we quote a maximum $100 charge and adjust the shipping cost to actual cost before we collect payment. Minimum charge for this service is $15.
For our Canadian customers:
- We’ve gone with a $40 flat rate that covers all our smaller items. You can order as many as you’d like and we’ll still only charge you $40!
- For larger/heavier items that don’t fall under our $40 small item rate, we quote a maximum $150 charge. Once your items are boxed and weighed, we calculate the actual shipping rate and adjust the shipping charge on your bill accordingly – before we collect payment. In most cases this results in a much lower shipping charge than the maximum charge we’ve quoted!
For our other international customers:
- We quote a maximum $200 charge. Once your items are boxed and weighed, we calculate the actual shipping charge and actual shipping rate and adjust the shipping charge on your bill accordingly – before we collect payment. In most cases this results in a much lower shipping charge than the maximum charge we’ve quoted!
At checkout, you can always ask to be notified about final shipping charges before we process your payment. Just let us know in the notes (just above the shipping section) that you’d like a total first and give us the best way to contact you for approval. If you have any questions or concerns about our new shipping policies, please contact us. We’re here to help!
